Christ's Terrible Army...

Strange name, but that is what God gave my friend Winnie when He showed her that she was to carry out the vision she had been praying about for 10 years. Ten years ago on the 28th of November she heard a prophecy and accepted the challenge to pray for God to "raise up a generation of young people in the land."
This day was the 28th of November, 2010 - 10 years to the day after she first heard that prophesy - and the launch of this new move of the Lord...what will He do? Here people are assembling under the tent, compliments of Nairobi Pentecostal Church on whose grounds we held the meeting.
T-shirts were printed up...here is the back...
...and here is the front (I got a gold one)
Cute face...
Winnie chatting with Pastor Julius Mbevi, brother to the man who first prophesied the vision. That sweet little girl in the fatigues is her niece Kim...they are dressed that way to set the tone.
Rosemary opens the meeting with a song of praise to the Lord...
Nick Jumba - one of the official photographers...
Praise and worship...
...inviting the Holy Spirit into our meeting.
I think she is used to the camera :)

Dan Khisa is the MC - he met me in town to bring me here...very nice of him.
Tinah - in charge of logistics, Winnie and Pastor Julius anticipating what God will do...
Dan, leading us in song...

Praise team...
Winnie is a natural praiser...
Sweet Kim...we are friends, by the way!

This is Winnie's first born, Alex.
Someone is getting sleeeepy!
The guest book - got filled up by the end of the day...
Dance team - ICED (In Christ Ever Dancing)...
performed a routine showing the dead end street of drinking and drugs...
...very entertaining...
...and reminded me of the power of our young people...yes, they are the future.

Dan could not resist introducing his lovely wife, Amani. They were married earlier this year, and are planning to move to Northern Kenya as missionaries to an unreached people group.
Trevor and Collette, Winnie's second and last born, rapping...
...they were good!
I think mom was a bit nervous watching them!

She is being introduced, and I can only imagine what is running thru her mind...
She started with praising the Lord, of course!

Winnie's sister, Victoria - I got to know her and Kim (her daughter) at Amani and Dan's wedding.
There she is...there are lots of photos of her from the wedding pictures - you can find that post in my archives.
Giving all the glory to God...

Sharing the prophesy; God will "raise up a generation of young people in the land. A people of fire, a fearsome group, a terrible army with banners."
"they will go across the land to recover what has been held by darkness. My power will be with them. By them, I will ashame the wisdom of the wise and the power of the mighty."
"I will move them across the land as fire moves, as rain, as a river. They will be for hope in the land. By them I will strike the wicked and save the humble."
"Yes, out of the mouth of babies I shall perfect praise. With the young, My name shall be identified."
WOW!
Winnie called Ann forward to pray a prayer of confession for and over us...

Then Pastor Julius Mbevi encouraged us from Psalm 110 and Ezekiel 22.
He set the context for the vision...
...and challenged each of us to be a part of what God is doing in this land.
He was passionate, excited and anointed.
There I am with my friend Kim!
Whoever was willing to stand in the gap and work with God in the land was to stand up...
...then we sang the Pledge of Allegiance to the Lamb...
And Winnie closed in prayer.
It was a privilege to be part of this launch. I don't know what God will do or when, but I know I am to be a part of it...
