"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Sunday at the Crystal Cathedral...

In the (very early!) morning I had the privilege of speaking at the Early Bird Bible Study (EBBS).  I love these people!  They are part of my church family here in the US.

I talked about my 'home' church in Kenya - Life Community Church (LCC)...a small church with a big vision.  First we are committed to be an Acts 2 community.  I read from Acts 2:46, 47 to help them understand what that means...and I got excited all over again to be part of such a dynamic church...
This is pretty much what I look like in front of a group!

Pastor Bill and his lovely wife Hilda
Bill 'warned' me he would be in class while I spoke...he later told my mom he loves to hear what I have to say...he is such a sweet man!  I also shared about 'tree to tree experiences' (something I learned in my life coach training)...how God calls us to one place for a time and then calls us to a new place on the way to the 'ultimate' destination...
...sometimes we mistakenly believe that the first 'tree' is IT and where we will be for the rest of our lives...which can hinder us from hearing God's still small voice prompting us to move to the next 'tree'...I read from Acts 16 and pulled from it lessons on how to listen to God...there are many ways He can speak to us just as He did with Paul.
I left them with the challenge to trust in God and have faith in His plan for 2013 as we all face the unknown...for me I go back to work with LCC as the director of finance and for the EBBS group as they face a move in the near future - we both have an idea of what's ahead but do not know all of what God has planned...let us watch what God will do.

Leading the responsive reading...
Then Pastor Bill (EBBS pastor) who also conducts the evening service asked me to assist as his normal assistant was very sick...
Preparation for Offering and prayer...

Bill gave me a few minutes to introduce myself and tell the congregation what I am doing in Kenya - thanks Bill for that opportunity!

In 3 minutes I managed to talked about my years at the Crystal Cathedral, the call to Kenya, my work at Missions of Hope and my transition to Life Community Church.

I ended by expressing my excitement to return in Feb and looking forward to seeing what new doors God will open in 2013...
Reading from Matthew 2:1-2 to set the stage for Bill's message
It was a pretty exciting day for me - being used by God to encourage and support my church.
