"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Fun, fun, fun!

Homebuilders is one of four Fellowship classes I enjoy at the Crystal Cathedral. Today I was invited to party with them in Luau fashion :)

After eating delicious appetizers and meeting and greeting friends, we sat for dinner...but first our pastor Glenn DeMaster prayed for us!
I took my camera to the food table and got these 'crowd shots'...
Did not think to shoot pics of the delicious food...oh well!

This delightful family; Oscar, wife Sylvia and son Richard were such fun! and very mission-minded. I was pleased to spend time with them.
The are watching the entertainment...
...Norma Roberts and her husband Earl...
...she had a beautiful voice...

Okay - their faces don't show it, but they really were enjoying the show :)
Official photographer...

Then they 'invited' members of the audience to dance to the hula song...
It was fun to laugh at them...but you didn't see me volunteering!
My mom was 'instructing' Dawn (in the blue dress) from her chair, but also refused to go up there!

Audience participation...we got to shake these rattle-like things...much fun!

One of my very favorite ladies - Clara Landrus...old time church member whose husband ran our ESL program while he was alive. For years they ran an international student program on campus and she is very mission-minded, even supporting a pastor in India.
Okay - they really were shaking those rattles!
I know the pics do not show the fun we had...it was great for me to see these friends for the first time since I got back to the US...and the entertainment was excellent...and I was home by 7pm - amazing!

EBBS Party

EBBS is Early Bird Bible Study. We meet at 8am on Sunday mornings...and we love each other.

So much fun! We gathered at the home of Harold and June Leach on Saturday the 13th of Aug. After eating munchies and just chatting and enjoying each others' company, we indulged ourselves on THE BEST food - and it was (mostly) healthy, even :)

Then it was picture time! That's Tina on the far right and her hubby, Al trying to get the camera set up...
Tina shooting me shooting her :)
Thanks to Hilda (seated just behind me) my camera took this shot with the self-timer setting - thanks Hilda! Don't ask me to name them all :)...but you will meet a few key people...
Tina (remember her?) taught us a VERY fun game...That's my mom in the front left and in the red is good friend Helen...
The chair sitters; June (her house) with Jim behind her, Liang and Patrick.
We broke into two teams...the Blue Team (yea!) on the right...the Black team to the left (and above)
Tina explaining that we each will have three letters, she will give us a clue and we are to spell out the answer with our letters...
We had to work as a team to line up left to right to spell the words...much fun!
First we spelled her name "TINA"...of course we won... :) L to R - Steve, Harold, me and Jim. Jim recently suffered a stroke on the operating table for cancer surgery. He is doing great considering he was just released from the hospital 5 days ago!
The Black team is trying to pull together...
And I will agree that they did manage to spell her last name "LEE"...now that the test is over, let the games begin!
Our first clue; how many books in the Bible. We won the first round - of course!
Second clue - who was the earthly father of Mary?
Black team trying to get their act together...
But of course, we were first to spell out Joseph :)
LOL! they took a short cut :)
Third round answer was GABRIEL...we won - again...
A motley crew, I must say :)
June (also a teacher in her career)...tries to discuss the rules with Tina...sore loser? Nah...don't think so :)
omygosh, this clue was NEBUCHADNEZZAR - no fair! We each got a point for good sportsmanship...cuz neither team knew how to spell it :)
Al really tried, really he did...and the Black team gave a stellar showing on this one :)
Then Tina gave us an easy one - What did Peter do after seeing Jesus on the water? Answer: WALK...yea Blue Team!
Black Team managed to get it...but lookin' lame in my opinion :)
First five books of the Bible? The TORAH...yea Blue Team :)
So I asked Tina - "Why do you keep helping the Black Team?" "Because I feel sorry for them" and "Otherwise it will be a very long ride home"...hubby was on the Black Team :)
Pastor Bill took center stage with a joke; St Peter meets a Teacher, a Preacher and a Lawyer at the pearly gates. What is the name of the ship that hit an iceberg and was sunk? "Titanic" says the teacher...
..."How many people drowned" "2,654" replies the Pastor...
..."What were their names?" he asked the Attorney :)
Patrick making some sort of point :)
What an amazing start to my time here in the OC...this is an awesome group of people and I LOVE LOVE LOVED spending the day with them :)
