"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Beginning new relationships and deepening others...

Last week I discovered that the Taylors were making a trip to Kenya...I met Donna in 2005 when she was on the Dream for Africa team that came to the Crystal Cathedral to extend an invitation to our congregation to travel to Swaziland...that was a brief meeting.  In 2007 I spent an evening with Donna in Naivasha, Kenya where she was leading a mission team to Kenya...but in 2008 Steve, Donna and two of their three kids; Maggie and Pete traveled to Kenya and stayed for a few days with us.  That is when I discovered what a precious family are the Taylors!!!

So when I found out they would be in Nairobi I jumped at the opportunity to visit with them, even if only for a very short time...only to find out that they are staying at a guest house across the lane from my house!  They are my neighbors (for a few days anyway!)  God is so good!  My anticipated 'few minutes' turned into two visits of several hours each - the highlight of my week!
Keziah and David Kariuki, Steve and Donna Taylor
On Friday evening David and Keziah came to the guest house to carry the Taylors to their 'assignment' from God...namely to search the night streets of Nairobi for two lost street boys.  Wednesday night God had led them to Isaac, one of three boys who ran from an orphanage a few hours from Nairobi.  Then last night - a miracle!  Both of the two remaining boys were discovered and taken to a wonderful home for street boys and other orphans named Children's Garden Home...please treat yourself to the complete story of both nights on Donna's Blog

David and Keziah live not far from me...so I anticipate that I will continue a friendship with them - I am even talking to Keziah about being my Swahili tutor - after almost 4 years of living here I might actually finally learn the language...now that is exciting :)

A Visit with Good Friends...

Dan and Amani are two of my oldest friends in Kenya.  They have always had hearts for missions; in fact that is how we met in 2007...doing mission work together.  God brought them together as husband and wife in Feb of 2010 and now they have baby Nehtania. They are stationed in Northern Kenya and I have the privilege of supporting them each month as they serve the Lord in a very harsh environment.

She LOVES her daddy!

She even let me hold her!
Roslyn just had a baby girl one month ago, but she did not bring her this day.
This is Amani's sister, who is also expecting soon!  Is it something in the water?  I hope not!
Nehtania quieted down every time her aunt held her...
The whole gang!  Several visitors on this day since Dan, Amani and Nehtania will travel soon.

Amateur photo shoot after the other guests left...this reminds me of when my kid was just 4 months old and her dad and I did a photo shoot of her (sort of ) sitting up!

I got tired of seeing her tip over so I put her in my lap, and Dan kept shooting!
The three girls :)

It was such a fun day and I am so glad I got to see them before they go back to the field.  Please pray for this precious family, that God will continue to use them to reach the lost.
