"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

Our Employee Breakfast

Okay - I know I said I did not have pictures for this, but a couple of friends sent me what they had shot and I just could not resist. This first shot is of the group...but the second shot is for my friend Tishona who loves camels...and she gets Santa as a bonus!

Here is Santa introducing himself, then he called out 'raffle' ticket numbers - prizes such as See's candy, paid days off and gift certificates were given out...

This is my pastor checking out the globe - she is easily fascinated! This next shot is the ONLY one I could find that had me in it - you get a prize if you can find me!

Everybody loves Niko - he is the Samoan shown in the center of this shot...

The program ended with Sheila Coleman, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Schuller, asking questions to help her parents reminisce about Christmases past...

Christmas parties!

The first party of the season doubled as a Board Meeting for the Intern Ministry Institute (IMI) - this first photo is the IMI 'team' consisting of four interns shown in front (left to right is Jorge, Allen, Matt and Christian) and left to right standing are Pastor Muffin, Judy and Nick.

We met in Hemet at the home of Richard and Garry then travelled to this beautiful home to hear from each of the interns as they recapped the past year, then we celebrated with a delicious dessert.

Here is our official photographer, Mike, snapping a shot of the team!

Tory (15) is chatting with the 'other' Joanna - we joke about being twins cuz we have the same name!

This next shot is of my dear friend Gail (also Nick's mom) and me.

Here is Alice, Janice (Matt's mom) and Heidi (Tory's mom)...

The next day we all gathered at the Crystal Cathedral after the church service for a delicious potluck. My 'twin' sister is proudly showing her awesome 'Christmas Tree Cake' - she bakes a cake for every occasion and they are always delicious!

Allen, behind the flatware, is the one who wrapped and tied all these napkins - good job!

This tree is decked out with hand made candy canes and advent wreaths - made from pipe cleaners!
We even had entertainment - thanks to Harold!

Then it was off to Newport Beach (after dashing home to change clothes!) and on to the dock for a harbor cruise...here are a few shots of family -Carlene (my sister-in-law's mother), Kathryn (my sister-in-law) and Alex (my mom)
Kathryn's husband (my younger brother, Paul) has his own company and every year he thanks the clients, sub contractors, family and friends who contribute to his continued success.

Alex (again) with Precious Jim (my older brother) and his girlfriend Suzie.

Some really bad pictures of the dining area with windows out to the harbor showing some of the decorated boats - oh well! I hope you get the idea anyway! It was a wonderful evening of visiting with people I had not seen for a while, eating delicious food and gazing at decorated houses and boats as we cruised the harbor for about 3 hours!
These are the wonderful people I work with - in the first photo (L to R) are Judy, Beverely, Nick, Alice and Joanne. Then Judy took the second shot with me in it!

There were other gatherings like our employee breakfast and another luncheon with other work colleagues...but I did not have my camera...another 'oh well'...suffice it to say...I am enjoying the season!

The Glory of Christmas

Okay - here I am with my mom, Alex, playing 'usher' for the Glory of Christmas at night. The show is always performed at night except for Children's Days which are during the day so the kids can attend during their school day. Read at the end of this entry about the photo I so badly wanted to take last night but missed it (kinda like the fish that got away!)

The rest of these photos are from last Tuesday when we had thousands of kidlets on the campus to see the Glory of Christmas for free! They are from schools all over this area and many of them are seeing the show for the first time...

These first few shots are of all the kids waiting out front before the show...I LOVE children's day! The campus is so full of life!

I was in the East Balcony when these angels arrived (they fly from the balconies) - the one with dark hair kept saying "they are the best...!" speaking of the kids...if you look closely at this next photo you can see one of the children waving - he is waving to the angels!

Look closely at the balcony in this next shot...can you see the person climbing up the steps? That is another angel who will be flying from the West Balcony...

The cathedral is filling up! Those ushers are doing a fine job of keeping the kids organized... they are like wiggling worms on a hot sidewalk and the noise is bliss! (that is, if you love kids!)

Here is Judy - walking up and down the aisles praying for the children, for the cast, for the 'household of faith'...my pastor - shown in the next shot (she is in the South Balcony also praying) says that when a child receives Christ a whole lifetime is changed...in addition to eternity.

Ah...the children keeping themselves occupied until the show starts...these girls and boys are entertaining themselves with "pat a cake"...

I thought this was a pretty dramatic photo of the floor plus the set...pretty awesome don't you think? or 'Fabulous' as a close friend of mine is fond of saying!

I shot this picture as the kids were climbing the stairs up to the East Balcony...and here is a shot of the balcony after all the guests were seated.

As I was leaving I shot this photo of one of the horses waiting to make his grand entrance...

Now for the story of my 'photo that got away'. ,..the first time I ushered aisle 6 for the Glory of Christmas I watched the show from there and less than six feet away perched a CAMEL! it was that close and as it stood up it's face almost touched mine...wow! then I watched it lumber down the aisle of MY church...it was so awesome I decided to sneak my camera into the church last night (again I ushered aisle 6) to get a picture...but I kept getting distracted...out of 4 opportunities I managed to take advantage of exactly -0-!

You will just have to take my word for it - it was breathtaking! I am sure the picture would not have captured the full effect anyway...
