It has been way too long since my last post. I was in Africa then and am in the US now. If you are my friend on facebook or on my email list you know that I have been in a bit of a whirlwind since my arrival on US soil.
Suffice it to say, I am now coming up for air and may even get some photos up soon (but don't hold your breath!)
The most current event is that I was diagnosed with a recurrence of breast cancer (same breast) so that meant a mastectomy. I was amazingly calm about the whole thing (to which I attribute 100% to God's grace and mercy)...
So - today I am two weeks and one day out from that surgery and feeling almost 100% (again the grace and mercy of God!)
My plan is to return to Kenya at the end of September. At my post-op appointment my surgeon held her breath as she asked about my travel plans. After she told me not less than a month from surgery (which was on the 13th of August) I told her I would be here for the whole month of September - she audibly exhaled...relieved that I was not jetting off right away.
I love how seriously she takes her job!
Both oncologists have cleared me for take off and I will see my surgeon on the 17th of September for her final blessing. No treatment necessary since ALL the cancer is now gone.
Thanks for checking in and especially for your prayers!
"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
