Such a fun day...

By this time in her visit (just over a week) Debi was thoroughly done with Nairobi's public transportation system :(...so we took a cab to Rhonda's house...

 Debi volunteered to ride in the jump seat :)

Moses and his girlfriend, Val, came with us...so we were 6 and there are only regular seats for 5.

The shot I wanted was Debi's startled face as this ostrich was plunked onto her plate!  But I had to settle for this one...

She's smiling, but believe me she was dubious!

She definitely did not like it...I think it was the thought of it more than the actual taste of it!

Rhonda loves the way they do birthdays, so we decided it was Moses' birthday :) He was such a trooper!

Debi very much enjoyed the festive air...

Enroute to our next destination...

 Bomas of Kenya is a grouping of 'mock' villages of many of the tribes found in Kenya...

Before touring the Bomas, we were entertained by excellent dancers displaying costumes and dances from several of the tribes...

 

The Maasai have a characteristic way of moving their neck and shoulders.  In fact each tribe has a 'signature' move...it is so much fun when my friends show me the different moves.

The highlight of the show...these acrobats are amazing!  They are athletes and performers...so much fun!

Debi is a proud grandmother of 4 precious grand babies :)

 

This Sanburu decided Debi was his first wife! They are posing in front of the first wife's hut...

In his broken English he gave us information on the Maasai and Sanburu (which are closely related)

Debi was a bit uncomfortable with his familiarity...

He decided I was the third wife, but didn't pose with me - what's that about?

 

 

As we waited for the others we found this guy...and were fascinated by the way he grubs in the ground for...whatever!  bugs I guess...

 They even had a play area for the kids...

Omygosh what a great day!  It was a delight to meet Val - she is such a sweetheart. It was an adventure to eat all that exotic meat at Carnivore (although Val and I ordered fish, which was delicious!).  Then the Bomas were a cultural treat...and the six of us enjoyed each other immensely.
