For Tishona

Tishona Smith is William's fiance. She will be coming to Kenya from Kentucky in June. I promised that I would take lots of pictures of Kitere, William's home, so that she would feel more comfortable during her visit. This is me keeping my promise!

Tishona, if you are anything like me, your highest priority is to determine where the restrooms are...so that is what I will begin with. I was told that at night, for a "short call" you can just make a short trip to the side or back of the house - here is the view during the day - the night view is amazing...sometimes I was reluctant to come back inside!

During the day, you will take a short walk up the hill past the 'big house' where Joseph stays and past the home of Elizabeth. Here is a photo of the beside Joseph's house showing the trail through the corn field.

Here is the latrine building. The two doors to the left are toilets and the one to the right is the 'bath house'.

I chose the middle stall so I decided to take a photo for you to see.

The final option is 'the bucket'...this is the most convenient for the middle of the night especially when there are people staying in the main room.

Here is a photo of the main room, which has two beds at the moment.

William's house is to the right - next to brother Paul (in the middle) and brother Tom (to the left.)

Meet the family...William is to the left with the cap on his head and is surrounded by his father and brothers, sisters, in-laws and nieces and nephews.

This is a beautiful place with much more than what I have captured in photos and the people are wonderfully friendly and welcoming. You will love it here!
