Today was a 'transition' teaching...since we did not meet last week and
the week before we finished the spiritual gift survey we decided to do a
simple scripture look-up following a review of our series on "Women of
Destiny"...we are in the middle of "Who I am" so the scriptures for
today were all about our identity in Christ.
Today we had a special visitor at our meeting :) She stayed the whole time...I think she was looking for a warm place to take a nap....

Little Elijah was too fascinated by the electric socket so Denise gave him this bag...with something in it...
When he couldn't open it, he carried it like this...

After beating the chair he used it on Denise's foot and then on his mother's lap! The object lesson Denise was teaching is that we are all designed for a purpose...just as there is a purpose for this kitchen tool and you can get an idea of what it is for by how it is designed.
He never stopped moving...he found an opening in the partition, on the other side of which was another group meeting...I think he was talking to them :)

Denise asked the ladies how they introduce themselves when they join a group - Susan jumped up and said her name, that she is born again, what church she attends and that she loves God!
Then Elphine got up and did the same - it was great how eager they were to do that! The point is that most of the things we see as our identity are temporal and can change or be taken away; like marital status, owning a business, being a pastor, being a parent even - but who we are in Christ is permanent and eternal.

Now that there is a good size group Denise decided to re-enact the previous object lesson. She passed around first a garlic press, then the potato masher then a whisk...

It was the perfect way to end today's lesson and introduce next week's 'personality profile' to add another puzzle piece to how God uniquely designed each one of us!
We always end with a time of prayer...
It was good to see these ladies after two weeks apart! There were few today (only 8) but we are confident the others will join us next week...
