Retreat time...

Dr. Bill loves to invite people to 'Come Away with Jesus'...last week my mom and I accepted his invitation and were blessed by the peace and tranquility at Prince of Peace Abbey - the location of the retreat.

After a brief session, we were released into small groups to walk the stations of the cross, something I not done before...
...what an amazing experience to stop and contemplate each phase of the journey Jesus took to the cross, there to become the ultimate sacrifice for mankind...
...at the final "station" we had the opportunity to just soak in the experience and significance of the sacrifice our Lord and Savior willingly made for us...
...here is my mom's group - they were just behind us...
Dr. Bill explaining the items on the 'altar' he created...
...a close-up of the altar...
Lillie shared with us the testimony of her journey through the trauma of breast cancer and treatment - she has received a new lease on life and a deeper relationship with her Lord and Savior...
The most powerful time of the retreat was our two and a half hours of quiet time...I started in an alcove just off of the sanctuary which contained a replica of the Ark of the Covenant. Wow! is all I can say - I so felt the presence of the Lord there that at first all I could do was weep.
Then I just felt like being outside and found this wonderful 'sanctuary' under the trees...
...after a while I decided to explore and found this cross...
...and this canopy of trees...
...and this amazing scene with the cross and the flag and the green...
...my small group with Bill...

Not pictured is Berta...a friend for many years who was also at the retreat. Mutual friend Louise surprised us both by sponsoring Berta to attend - many thanks to Louise for blessing me in such a profound way.
After the retreat Berta and I spent time talking and sharing over a meal and even experienced a sweet mass at the mission church during their 8th grade graduation ceremony.
God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good!
