"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?" Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."

St. Catherine's church is in Kibera slum. Friend Twyla and I visited to help celebrate the last day of school.
Twyla and her husband Les are involved in many endeavors.  One that is near and dear to Twyla's heart is the blessing they have been to St. Catherine's church, school and children's home in the Kibera slum.  I was privileged to accompany her on this last day of school.
Twyla is organizing the day with Pastor James. He also runs an orphanage and many of the orphans also attend the school
Leading praise and worship in the church sanctuary.  These are most of the kids of St. Catherine's
Walking to the school...yep it started raining...sure am glad Twyla brought two ponchos!
Twyla also handed out prizes to the best students in several categories...
Pastor James with words of encouragement and reminding the kids of all that has been done for the church and orphanage through the ministry of Les and Twyla Brickman
Reciting scripture from Exodus.
Showing off the goodies we brought - a New Testament and bag of popcorn/candy for each kid
I LOVED helping to pass out the goodies :)
Head teacher Teresa, and I, worked as an awesome team :)
Twyla praying over the children...see how they bow and cover their faces?
Stopping to give out left over popcorn bags!

25 or more children squeeze into this room!  I love the walls :)
Sign on the wall upstairs in what I assume is the teacher's room.
Head teacher Teresa at a property St. Catherine's is purchasing to house the orphan boys.

It was a bit treacherous walking down the path to the street!  Slippery...
Pastor James is excited about the new building...this is the front at street level
A picture I could not resist taking!
It was SUCH a fun day!  I love that Twyla took me with her...we even had a few adventures getting home; tentatively walking thru the mud, trying to remember a short cut Twyla had been shown, and just taking in all the sights, sounds and smells!
